Working from home?

Most of you will have experienced over the last couple of months a new world. Just walking out of the door to do whatever you want to do is in most cases no longer an option. This has not only impacted our personal life but also the way we work. Many offices have completely shut down and are trying to figure out how to safely open again.

Although I have been working from home for many years, in combination with going to offices to deliver training, the last months have been a challenge. I miss not being able to meet up with people, deliver training face to face or go to any of the Salesforce community meetings.

The main advantage for those of us who work with Salesforce is that we can relatively easily work from home. That is, our main tool is online, so as long as we have internet and a place to sit, we can do our job (mostly!). Yes, it has come with challenges, but for businesses who use Salesforce, actually moving the workforce remotely is potentially easier, then those who rely on in house applications.

Luckily Salesforce is not only friendly to work from home for admins and developers but also for users. In addition to the browser option, there is a rather powerful mobile app that can be used. That app will also be beneficial for those users who do need to go out and visit people. Not having to carry a lot of stuff with you, but just a tablet or phone makes taking care of yourself much easier.

As we might not see a return to normal anytime soon, being able to fully use all tools at your disposal when working with Salesforce with be more than ever in demand. For those businesses who use Salesforce, optimising their orgs as well as developing their mobile app will make working remotely easy. For those businesses who don’t use Salesforce yet, moving towards Salesforce might be an opportunity to go for at the moment.
