The Year that was 2022

As it is nearly New Year it is time to reflect on the last year.  Looking back, it seemed a busy year, despite still a quietness all around due to the pandemic.  So, what did I manage to achieve?

  1. New Certification – Associate

As you can read in this post, I got the new Salesforce Associate exam.
It is a nice new addition, perfect for new starters in the world of Salesforce. Anyone who has end user experience or has just started as an admin or developer, this one is good to start with
Definitely one I will advise new starters to take to ease into Salesforce certifications. Taking Admin or PAB as first one is for many a tough hurdle, so the Associate will help in cementing knowledge and gaining confidence.

  2. My first e-book; Admin Mistakes

It was a soft launch but I finally managed to write my first e-book, focussing on Admin Mistakes. Having done a successful London Calling session in 2021 I decided to expand and convert it into an e-book.

  3. Achieved 5 star ranger status & Another Superbadge (well 12!)

Now that Security Superbadge was not an easy one to tackle. First of all in Trailhead it is quite messy to follow the thread. But once I ironed that out (see this post) I found it more manageable. Definitely took me more time than they assigned to it. And some areas more complex than others, but overall a good rounded Superbadge to add to the collection.

Thanks to the Superbadge, studying for the Associate certification and prepping for more certifications for 2023, I managed to achieve 5 star ranger status.
  4. Published a blog for Salesforce admins!

Thanks to the amazing Mark Jones, I was part of the blog writing team for Admin Skills for Success. My focus area was the Importance of Attention to Detail, something that has been a core part of my career since I left university.

I have had some amazing managers who really drilled the skill into me, to such a level that it has become second nature to me.

  5. Completed one project and started new one

When I am not ploughing through Trailhead increasing my knowledge, I work on Training Project. The first 9 months of the year was a challenging Field Service Project. Lots of new topics, very diverse end users and tight deadlines.

On completion immediately rolled into the next project, helping a new client expanding their Salesforce Training platform.

  6. Launched my first short video series – Salesforce Unraveled

Another soft launch on a small video series (click here for the series in Youtube). In it I try to unravel some of the Salesforce common topics and my thoughts on them. Talking about Trailhead, AppExchange, Yearly releases and much more

Overall 2022 was a year that flew by without realising it.

Time to take the planner out and see what 2023 is going to bring!
