Yes, you read it right, after Salesforce gave us the option to add emojis in our text and celebrate with confetti, we now can add sound.
Under the name Trailshred, they launched this latest gimmick during the developer event TDX19. To help us guide through the process there is of course a Trailhead badge.
First step was trying to find an awesome sound. I didn’t want to go for ‘standard’ music and creating my own track was beyond my creativity for the day. So I decided on strolling through my Voice Memos to see if I had a hidden gem there. After I had the sound selected and transferred to the computer, I was ready for the build. A short 45 minutes later, the job was done.
Now whenever I win an opportunity, my awesome kitty Wookie will purr happily through the speakers
Fun as it is to do, I have to wonder what businesses will think about it. Imagine being in a sales department with say 50 or so users. And all have their speakers on and are busy closing deals as it is towards the end of the month. The noise can become quite overwhelming. But I do think it can be of great entertainment, encouragement and value, providing you find the correct paramaters on using it.
